10th century woven piece from Mammen, Denmark. This piece was found in a burial chamber in the mid 1800s and included a number of luxury pieces. This woven band included half a dozen motifs--this is one of them. This pattern is another lovely, double-sided, skip-hole weave. http://ladyelewys.car
